POPIA consent
What you are agreeing to when you apply, in plain language rather than in six pages of it.
Last updated 3 September 2026
The Protection of Personal Information Act gives you control over information about you. This page sets out what you consent to when you apply to CarMonthly, so that you can read it before you apply rather than inside a form.
What you consent to
By submitting an application you agree that we may:
- Collect and process the personal information you give us in order to assess the application.
- Verify that the information is accurate, including confirming your identity and your income with the documents you provide.
- Share what is necessary with the parties who deliver the service, such as an insurer, a tracking provider and the licensing authority.
- Contact you about your application and about the agreement that follows from it.
What you are not agreeing to
You are not agreeing to receive marketing. We treat that as a separate choice you make separately, and applying does not make it for you. If we ever want to send you marketing, we will ask, and you can say no without it affecting your application.
Assessment, and what it is not
We assess affordability ourselves, on your income. Where a credit or identity check forms part of that, we will tell you before we run it. A decision is made by a person, not by an automated score alone, and you may ask us why a decision went the way it did.
Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing admin@futuredrive.co.za. Withdrawing it means we stop processing your information, so we will not be able to continue an application in progress. Where an agreement is already in place, some records must be kept for the period the law requires, and we will tell you which.
Queries and complaints
Send any question about how we handle your information to admin@futuredrive.co.za and it will reach the person responsible for it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Our full policy is on the privacy page, and the terms of the subscription itself are on the terms page.
